A deposit is required at the time of booking. It varies by tattoo and appointment, your artist confirms the amount, and it is applied toward the final cost. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person, because they reserve your artist’s time exclusively for you. e-Transfer, card or cash at the studio.
Yes. Give us at least 7 days’ notice and your deposit moves to the new date. Missed appointments and last-minute or short-notice changes require a new deposit.
Cancelling leads to a loss of deposit, as your artist reserved that time for you. Reschedule instead where you can: with 7 days’ notice the deposit moves.
Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for paperwork. If you are running late, contact us immediately. Arrivals over 20 minutes late may mean reduced tattoo time or cancellation, depending on the schedule.

Yes. Breaks let both you and your artist rest, hydrate and stretch. How many depends on your tattoo size, pain tolerance and session length.
Deposits are non-refundable, and once a tattoo has been started no refunds are provided. Tattooing is a custom art service. If you need design adjustments, tell your artist in advance.

Yes, complimentary when genuinely necessary, as determined by your artist: uneven healing, significant ink loss, areas that did not retain ink. Conditions apply, no fixed time window, and fingers, hands and feet are not guaranteed. Once it has fully healed, text a photo to 902-448-2211 and your artist will take a look. Yes. Tattoo Lab holds a Nova Scotia Body Art Facility Permit, and the whole team has bloodborne pathogens certification. Needles and cartridges are sterile and single-use, and most of our other tools are single-use too. Between clients, stations, trays and chairs are cleaned with a medical-grade surface disinfectant. Eat a good meal, stay hydrated and avoid alcohol for 24 hours. If you take medication, especially blood thinners, talk to your doctor and tell your artist. Wear clean, comfortable clothing with easy access to the area. Bring photo ID.
One quiet guest, depending on studio space and artist comfort. Please avoid groups, children, or anyone who may distract your artist.
A child under 16 being pierced can bring a health card or student photo ID if they have no other ID; everyone else brings valid government-issued photo ID showing date of birth. Tattoos are 16+, with a parent or legal guardian present for the entire session at 16 to 17. Piercing ages vary by placement: see the piercing age table.
